Method

1.Preheat oven to moderately slow, 160°C. Lightly grease and line an 11cm x 25cm loaf pan.
2.In a small saucepan, combine sugar, butter, milk and coffee. Stir over medium heat until melted.
3.Chop half the walnuts. Sift flour and cinnamon into a large bowl. Stir eggs, butter mixture and chopped walnuts through. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes.
4.Sprinkle remaining walnuts over. Continue baking for 25-30 minutes, until cooked when tested with a skewer. Invert onto a wire rack to cool.
5.To make icing, combine water and coffee in a bowl. Add icing sugar and butter. Stir mixture over a saucepan of gently simmering water until smooth. Drizzle over cake. Serve in slices.
