Method
1.Combine sugar and 1 1/3 cups water in a small saucepan over moderate heat. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until sugar dissolves. Increase heat to high. Bring to the boil. Boil, without stirring, for 1 minute. Remove from heat.
2.Add chocolate to syrup; stir until melted. Strain chocolate mixture through a fine sieve into a loaf pan. Cool to room temperature. Freeze for 3 hours or until firm. Chop sorbet. Process until lighter in colour and smooth. Return mixture to pan; freeze for 3 hours or until firm.
3.Serve scoops of sorbet in waffle baskets with berries.
Serve in small scoops, as the chocolate flavour is rich and intense. Dairy free: Omit waffle baskets.
