Ingredients

Method

1.Cut each pastry sheet into 4 squares (giving a total of 12 pastry squares). Mix cinnamon and sugar together, reserve 2 teaspoons for later use.
2.Combine remaining cinnamon sugar with pie apples and walnuts in a bowl. Place a tablespoonful of apple mixture in the centre of each pastry square. Brush edges of pastry lightly with egg white. Fold pastry squares diagonally in half to enclose filling, pressing edges to seal.
3.Place turnovers on lightly greased oven trays, brush tops with egg white and sprinkle with reserved cinnamon sugar. Bake in a 200°C preheated oven for 15 minutes or until golden.

Serve with cream or ice-cream. Turnovers will keep for several days in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat as required.
