Ingredients
Method
1.Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease 1.5-litre (6-cup) ovenproof dish well.
2.Peel, core and halve apples. Place apples, cut-side up, in single layer, in dish, sprinkle with sultanas; drizzle with maple syrup, dot apples with butter. Cover dish with foil; bake 20 minutes.
3.Sift flour and sugar into medium bowl; rub in extra butter. Add cream; use a knife to cut the cream through the flour mixture to make a soft sticky dough.
4.Remove foil from dish; spoon dough evenly over apple halves, sprinkle with nuts. Bake a further 25 minutes or until apples are tender and cobbler is browned lightly. Stand 10 minutes before serving with cream, custard or ice-cream.
For this recipe you may just use self raising flour and omit the baking powder.
