Pay homage to the woodland origins of the traditional Christmas tree with this table setting. This scheme draws on muted, moody shades of grey and green to create a subtle, striking look. Clear glassware and water bottles cut through the dense tones and add a delicate touch, while brass coloured cutlery and napkin rings add welcome accents of brightness to the spread.

Add a pine cutting to a vase in the center and pop sprigs into napkin holders. Not only will it complete your moody botanical look, it’ll also smell fantastic. Branches of manuka, tea tree or sprigs of rosemary are great foliage alternatives.

Keep your Christmas spread in line with your table style by giving the classics a gourmet twist. Try this blood orange marmalade ham, green salad with raspberry dressing and fruit mince pie with spiced meringue.
